Before you can create orders in Chatmo, you need to populate your product catalog. The Products page -- accessed from the sidebar on the Orders page -- lets you manage all the products available for sale.

Product List View
Products are displayed in a card-based layout (not a table), where each card shows key product information at a glance:
| Card Element | Description |
|---|---|
| Image | Product photo (the first uploaded image) |
| Name | Product name |
| Description | Short product description |
| Status | Active (green badge) or Inactive (gray badge) |
| Price | Product price in formatted currency |
| Stock | Available stock count |
| Weight | Product weight in grams |
Search and Filter
At the top of the product list, you'll find:
- Search -- Find products by name.
- Status Filter -- Show all products, only Active, or only Inactive.
Adding a New Product
To add a new product to your catalog:
- Click the Add Product button on the Products page.
- The product form opens.

Fill in accurate product weights. Weight is used to calculate shipping rates via Biteship when creating orders. Inaccurate weights can lead to incorrect shipping cost estimates.
- Fill in all required fields.
- Upload product images if available.
- Make sure the status is set to Active if the product is ready to sell.
- Click Save to store the product.
Editing a Product
To update an existing product's information:
- Find the product you want to edit in the product list.
- Click the Edit button on the product card.
- The edit form opens with the product's current data pre-filled.
- Modify the fields you need to change.
- Click Save to apply the changes.

Changes to a product do not affect previously created orders. For example, if you update a product's price, existing orders will keep the price that was set when the order was originally created.
Toggling Active/Inactive Status
You can activate or deactivate a product without deleting it:
- Find the product in the list.
- Click the Toggle Active/Inactive button on the product card.
- The product status changes immediately.
Active products -- Appear in the product search dropdown when creating orders. Shown with a green badge.
Inactive products -- Do not appear in the product search when creating orders, but the product data remains saved. Shown with a gray badge.
This is useful for products that are temporarily unavailable or awaiting restock -- you can hide them from orders without losing any product data.
Deleting a Product
To permanently remove a product from your catalog:
- Find the product in the list.
- Click the Delete button on the product card.
- Confirm the deletion.
Product deletion is permanent. Deleted products cannot be recovered. If you just want to hide a product from the order catalog, use the Toggle Inactive feature instead.
Product Management Tips
- Use quality images -- Clear product photos help agents select the right product when creating orders.
- Update stock regularly -- Accurate stock levels prevent ordering products that are actually out of stock.
- Get weights right -- Product weight directly affects shipping rate calculations.
- Deactivate instead of delete -- If a product is temporarily unavailable, set it to Inactive so the data is preserved.
- Write informative descriptions -- Good descriptions help agents and customers understand product details without needing to ask.
