Every order in Chatmo comes with an invoice that's ready the moment the order is created. You can view, print, and download invoices directly from the order detail page -- complete with product details, pricing, and payment information ready to share with your customers.

Accessing an Invoice
Invoices are accessed from the order detail page. In the Order History (timeline) section, you'll find two buttons:
- View Invoice -- Opens the invoice page in a new tab
- Print Invoice -- Opens the invoice and triggers the browser's print dialog
The invoice is composed from the existing order data -- products, prices, shipping address, payment method, and customer information.

The Invoice Page
When you open an invoice, the page displays several elements at the top:
Action Buttons
At the top of the invoice page, there are three buttons:
- Back to Order -- Returns to the order detail page
- Print -- Prints the invoice using the browser's
window.printfunction - Download PDF -- Downloads the invoice as a PDF file (uses html2canvas + jsPDF)
Template Not Configured Warning
If the invoice template hasn't been configured yet, an "Invoice Template Not Configured" warning appears at the top of the page. This means business information like your logo, business name, and contact details haven't been filled in. The invoice can still be viewed, but it won't look complete.
Configure your invoice template before sending invoices to customers. An invoice without complete business information looks unprofessional. See the Invoice Customization section below for how to set it up.

Invoice Customization
The invoice template can be customized through the Invoices tab in the Orders sidebar (URL: orders?menu=invoices). This tab contains the Invoice Template Editor that lets you configure the appearance and information shown on every invoice.

Configurable Fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Business Logo | Your business logo displayed in the invoice header. Upload your logo image |
| Business Name | Your business or organization name |
| Business email address | |
| Phone | Business phone number |
| Address | Full business address |
| Notes | Default notes that appear on every invoice (e.g., "Thank you for your order") |
| Terms & Conditions | Applicable terms and conditions (e.g., return policy, payment deadline) |
How to Configure the Template
- Navigate to the Orders page.
- Click the Invoices tab in the sidebar.
- The Invoice Template Editor opens.
- Fill in all the required fields.
- Upload your business logo.
- Add notes and terms & conditions as needed.
- Save your changes.
Fill in the invoice template as completely as possible. Complete business information -- logo, name, address, contact details -- projects professionalism and builds customer trust. Use the notes and terms fields to communicate payment policies or warranty information.
Payment Status Tracking
The invoice displays a payment status that's directly linked to the order's payment data:
| Status | Color | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Unpaid | Red | Payment has not been received |
| Paid | Green | Payment has been confirmed |
| Refunded | Gray | Payment has been refunded |
| Expired | Amber | Payment has expired |
This status updates automatically when the payment status on the order changes. When you click Mark as Paid on the order detail page, the badge on the invoice updates accordingly.
