Before you can start managing customer conversations in Chatmo, you'll need an account. This page walks you through creating one, verifying your email, logging in, recovering a forgotten password, and setting up two-factor authentication for extra security.
Creating a New Account
Getting started takes just a couple of minutes.

- Go to the Chatmo registration page at app.chatmo.io/register.
- Fill in the required fields:
- Full Name β Your real name, as it will appear to teammates and in conversation assignments.
- Email Address β Use a business email if possible. This becomes your login credential.
- Password β Choose a strong password with at least 8 characters, including a mix of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Phone Number β Your mobile number, including country code (e.g., +62 for Indonesia).
- Review and accept the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy by checking the box.
- Click Create Account.
If you're planning to manage a team, use an email address you check regularly. Account notifications, billing alerts, and team invitations all go to this address.
After submitting the form, Chatmo sends a verification email to the address you provided.
Email Verification
Your account won't be fully active until you verify your email address. Here's what to do:
- Check your inbox for an email from [email protected] with the subject line "Confirm Your ChatMo Account."
- Click the Confirm Email button in the email. This link is valid for 24 hours.
- You'll be redirected to Chatmo with a confirmation message. Your account is now verified and ready to use.
If you don't see the verification email within a few minutes, check your spam or junk folder. Some corporate email filters are aggressive with emails from new senders. You can also click Resend verification email on the login page if needed.
Logging In
Once your account is verified, logging in is straightforward.

- Navigate to app.chatmo.io/login.
- Enter your registered email address and password.
- Click Log In.
If your credentials are correct, you'll land on the Chatmo Dashboard. First-time users will be directed to the Onboarding Wizard instead.
Chatmo keeps your session active for 30 days on trusted devices. If you're using a shared or public computer, make sure to log out when you're done by clicking your profile avatar in the bottom-left corner and selecting Log Out.
Password Recovery
Forgot your password? It happens. Here's how to reset it:
- On the login page, click the Forgot Password? link below the password field.
- Enter the email address associated with your Chatmo account.
- Click Send Reset Link.
- Check your email for a message from Chatmo with the subject "Reset Your ChatMo Password."
- Click the Reset Password button in the email. The link expires after 1 hour.
- On the reset page, enter your new password and confirm it.
- Click Reset Password.
You'll be redirected to the login page where you can sign in with your new credentials right away.
After resetting your password, any active sessions on other devices will be signed out automatically. This is a security measure to protect your account in case the reset was triggered because of unauthorized access.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Adding two-factor authentication significantly strengthens your account security. Even if someone obtains your password, they can't access your account without the second verification step.
Setting Up 2FA
- Log in to your Chatmo account.
- Click your profile avatar in the bottom-left corner of the sidebar.
- Go to Settings > Security.
- In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click Enable 2FA.
- You'll see a QR code on screen. Open your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or any TOTP-compatible app) and scan the code.
- Enter the 6-digit verification code displayed in your authenticator app.
- Click Verify and Enable.
- Chatmo will generate a set of backup codes. Save these somewhere safe β they're your fallback if you lose access to your authenticator app.
Store your backup codes in a secure location separate from your device. If you lose your phone and don't have backup codes, you'll need to contact Chatmo support to regain access to your account, which may take time and require identity verification.
Logging In with 2FA Enabled
Once 2FA is active, the login flow adds one extra step:
- Enter your email and password as usual.
- When prompted, open your authenticator app and enter the current 6-digit code.
- Click Verify to complete the login.
If you don't have access to your authenticator app, click Use a backup code and enter one of the codes you saved during setup.
Accepting Team Invitations
If a colleague has already set up a Chatmo organization and invited you to join, you'll receive an email invitation instead of going through the standard registration flow.
- Open the invitation email from Chatmo and click Accept Invitation.
- If you already have a Chatmo account, you'll be asked to log in and the organization will be added to your account.
- If you're new to Chatmo, you'll be directed to a simplified registration form. Fill in your name and create a password β your email is pre-filled from the invitation.
- After completing registration (or logging in), you'll be taken directly to the organization's dashboard with the role and permissions your admin assigned to you.
You can belong to multiple Chatmo organizations with the same account. Switch between organizations by clicking the organization name in the top-left corner of the sidebar.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
| Problem | Solution |
|---|---|
| Verification email not arriving | Check spam/junk folders. Add [email protected] to your contacts. Click "Resend verification email" on the login page. |
| "Invalid credentials" error | Double-check your email address for typos. Passwords are case-sensitive. Try resetting your password if unsure. |
| 2FA code not working | Make sure your device's clock is synced correctly. TOTP codes are time-based and won't work if your clock is off by more than 30 seconds. |
| Invitation link expired | Ask your team admin to resend the invitation. Invitation links expire after 7 days. |
| Account locked after failed attempts | After 5 failed login attempts, accounts are temporarily locked for 15 minutes. Wait and try again, or reset your password. |
