After you register and log in for the first time, Chatmo walks you through a guided onboarding wizard. This process helps you set up the essentials so you can start receiving and responding to customer messages as quickly as possible.
The whole wizard typically takes about 10 to 15 minutes, depending on how many channels you want to connect upfront.

The Onboarding Wizard
The onboarding wizard is a two-step setup flow that appears automatically on your first login. The progress indicator at the top shows:
- Organization Setup β Configure your business profile
- Dashboard β Start using Chatmo
You'll see a clean two-column layout: the setup form on the left and a decorative panel with inspirational quotes on the right.
If you were invited to join an existing organization, you'll skip the onboarding wizard entirely. Your admin has already configured these settings, and you'll land directly in the dashboard with your assigned role.
Step 1: Organization Setup
Your organization is the top-level container in Chatmo. Everything β channels, contacts, conversations, team members β lives under your organization.
Here are the fields you'll need to fill in:
-
Organization Name β Enter your business or brand name. This is what your team members will see when they log in, and it appears in internal notifications.
-
Website URL β Enter your company website (e.g.,
www.yourcompany.com). Thehttps://prefix is already shown, so you only need to type the domain. -
Industry β Select your industry from the searchable dropdown. Options include:
- Technology
- Healthcare
- Finance & Banking
- Retail & E-commerce
- Manufacturing
- Education
- Real Estate
- Hospitality & Tourism
- Automotive
- Food & Beverage
- Consulting
- Media & Entertainment
- Logistics & Transportation
- Construction
- Non-Profit
- Other
-
Company Size β Pick the option that best describes your team from the card grid:
Size Category 1β10 Startup 11β50 Small Business 51β200 Medium Company 200+ Enterprise -
Tell us more about your business (optional) β A free-text field where you can share your main business goals and how you currently handle customer communications. This helps Chatmo tailor recommendations to your needs.
-
Click Complete Setup to proceed. You'll see a "Setting up..." spinner while your organization is being created, then you'll be redirected to the dashboard.
Fill in the industry and company size accurately β Chatmo uses this information to tailor certain defaults and suggestions for your business. While the data is saved during setup, the important thing is getting it right the first time since these fields help shape your initial experience.
After Organization Setup
Once your organization is created, you'll land on the Chatmo Dashboard. From here, you can begin configuring the rest of your setup through the sidebar navigation:
