Sending a broadcast is only half the story. What happens after you hit send -- how many messages were delivered, what the open rate looks like, and what needs to change for the next campaign -- that is the data that shapes your strategy. The broadcast analytics dashboard in Chatmo gives you clear visibility into campaign performance so you can learn, adjust, and improve over time.

Accessing Broadcast Analytics
Broadcast analytics is accessed through the Analytics (or Reports) menu in the sidebar, then selecting the Broadcast submenu. This page displays a comprehensive dashboard with metrics, charts, and a table summarizing the performance of all your broadcast campaigns.
Broadcast analytics is located in the Analytics/Reports menu in the sidebar, not on the broadcast detail page. This menu provides an overall view of all campaign performance in a single dashboard.

Date Filter
At the top of the dashboard, you can filter data by time range. Available options:
| Filter | Description |
|---|---|
| Today | Data from today |
| Yesterday | Data from yesterday |
| Last 7 Days | Data from the last 7 days |
| Last 30 Days | Data from the last 30 days |
| This Week | Data from this week (Monday to today) |
| Last Week | Data from last week (Monday to Sunday) |
| This Month | Data from this month |
| Last Month | Data from last month |
| Custom Date Range | Manually select a start and end date |

Key Metric Cards
The top of the dashboard displays four key metric cards that give you a quick snapshot of broadcast performance:
| Metric | Description |
|---|---|
| Total Campaigns | Total number of broadcast campaigns within the selected time range |
| Total Messages Sent | Total messages successfully sent across all campaigns |
| Average Delivery Rate | Average percentage of messages successfully delivered to recipient devices |
| Average Open Rate | Average percentage of messages opened and read by recipients |
These cards provide an overall health indicator for your broadcast operations. If the Average Delivery Rate drops significantly, it may indicate issues with contact data quality. If the Average Open Rate is low, it may be time to evaluate message content or send timing.
Performance Charts
The dashboard includes several visual charts to help you understand trends and performance distribution:
Campaign Performance Over Time
A line chart showing campaign performance over time within the selected date range. This chart helps you identify trends -- whether performance is improving, declining, or holding steady.
Message Delivery Status Distribution
A chart showing the distribution of message delivery statuses: how many were delivered, failed, pending, and so on. This provides a visual breakdown of overall delivery quality.
Campaign Status Distribution
A chart showing the distribution of campaign statuses: how many completed, failed, were cancelled, and so on. Useful for seeing how many campaigns ran successfully versus those that encountered issues.
Recent Campaigns Table
At the bottom of the dashboard, a table lists recent campaigns along with their individual metrics:
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Campaign Name | The broadcast campaign name |
| Status | Campaign status (COMPLETED, FAILED, SENDING, etc.) |
| Channel | The channel used (WhatsApp, Instagram, etc.) |
| Recipients | Total number of targeted recipients |
| Sent | Number of messages successfully sent |
| Delivered | Number of messages successfully delivered to recipient devices |
| Failed | Number of messages that failed to send |
| Open Rate | Percentage of messages opened and read |
| Created Date | The date the campaign was created |
| Actions | Available actions for the campaign |
This table lets you compare performance across campaigns directly. Sort by specific columns to find your best and worst performers.
Optimizing Future Broadcasts Based on Data
Analytics are only valuable if they inform your decisions. Here is how to use the metrics effectively:
Low Delivery Rate
Problem: Many messages are failing to deliver.
What to do:
- Clean your contact database -- remove or flag numbers that are no longer active
- Validate phone numbers before import -- make sure the format is correct
- Check your WhatsApp device status in Chatmo -- make sure it is still connected and active
- Use the Recipient List feature to validate numbers before sending
Low Open Rate
Problem: Messages are delivered but rarely opened.
What to do:
- Optimize send timing -- test sending at different times and compare results
- Improve the first line of your message -- this is what appears in the notification and determines the first impression
- Ensure proper segmentation -- irrelevant messages tend to be ignored
- Reduce broadcast frequency -- sending too often can cause recipients to habitually ignore messages
Declining Campaign Performance
Problem: Chart trends show a decline over time.
What to do:
- Rotate your content -- audiences can get fatigued by the same message style
- Evaluate segmentation -- segments that are too broad produce low engagement
- Refresh your templates -- frequently used templates may no longer be effective
- Compare successful vs failed campaigns to find patterns
Use the Custom Date Range filter to compare performance across periods. For example, compare this month's performance with last month's to see whether your new strategy is producing results.
Common Delivery Issues
| Issue | Likely Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Many messages failed | Outdated contact data | Clean your database, remove invalid numbers |
| Sudden drop in open rates | Recipients are starting to ignore messages | Evaluate frequency and content relevance |
| Very slow delivery | WhatsApp rate limit reached | Reduce sending volume or upgrade account tier |
| Declining number quality | Too many spam reports | Immediately reduce frequency, improve targeting |
If your WhatsApp number quality drops to "Low Quality" or "Flagged" status, immediately reduce your sending volume and review your broadcast strategy. Ignoring these warnings can result in restrictions or suspension of your business messaging capabilities.
