The ticket board gives you a visual, Kanban-style view of your tickets organized into columns by status. Instead of scanning rows in a table, you see the full picture of your team's workload β what's waiting, what's in progress, and what's been handled.

How the Board Works
The board is divided into columns, where each column represents a ticket status. Tickets appear as cards within their respective columns, displaying key details at a glance.
Ticket Card Layout
Each ticket card shows the following information:
- Ticket number β Displayed as
#123in blue monospace font. - Title β A summary of the issue or task, truncated if too long.
- Priority badge β Color-coded by urgency level:
- Low = green
- Medium = yellow
- High = orange
- Urgent = red
- Description preview β Plain text (HTML stripped) limited to 2 lines. Hover over the card to see the full description in a tooltip.
- Products total price β Displayed in Rp format if the ticket has associated products.
- Assignees β An avatar stack of assigned agents, showing up to 3. If there are more, an overflow count appears (e.g., "+2").
- Created date β When the ticket was first created.
- 3-dot menu β Quick actions: Copy Link and Delete.
The visual layout makes patterns immediately obvious. A column overflowing with cards signals a bottleneck. An empty column might mean your team hasn't started picking up tickets in that stage. These are signals that are hard to spot in a list view but stand out on a board.
Creating a Board
Chatmo supports multiple boards tailored to different teams, workflows, or projects.
Board Selector
At the top of the Tickets page, the Board Selector dropdown shows the currently active board. The default board is marked with a "Default" badge and is automatically selected when you first open the page.
Creating a New Board

- Click the create board button on the Tickets page.
- In the modal that appears, fill in:
- Board Name (required) β A descriptive name that tells your team what this board is for (e.g., "Customer Support," "Returns Processing," "Technical Issues").
- Description (optional) β A brief explanation of the board's purpose.
- Click Save.
The new board immediately appears in the Board Selector dropdown, ready for you to add status columns.
Board Columns and Statuses
Each board consists of columns that represent stages in your ticket workflow. Statuses in Chatmo are fully customizable β there are no predefined defaults. You create statuses that match your team's actual process.
Adding a New Status

- Click the Add Status button at the right end of the board columns.
- In the modal, enter a name for the status (e.g., "Under Review," "Testing," "Pending Approval").
- Click Save.
The new status appears as a column on the board.
Choosing a Status Color

Each status column has a colored header for easy visual distinction. To change the color:
- Click the 3-dot menu on the column header.
- Select Change Color.
- Choose from 8 preset colors:
| Color | |
|---|---|
| Gray | Blue |
| Green | Yellow |
| Purple | Orange |
| Red | Pink |
The color applies immediately to the column header.
Column Header Details
Each column displays:
- Colored header matching the status color setting.
- Status name as the column title.
- Ticket count badge β Shows how many tickets are in the column.
- 3-dot menu β Contains Change Color and Archive Status options.
Archiving a Status
Statuses that are no longer actively used can be archived:
- Click the 3-dot menu on the column header.
- Select Archive Status.
- Confirm the archival.
The archived status is removed from the board as a column.
Managing Archived Statuses

To view and manage archived statuses, open the Archived Statuses modal. Inside, you can:
- Search for statuses by name using the search field.
- Restore β Bring an archived status back as an active column on the board.
- Delete β Permanently remove the status. If tickets still use this status, the system will display a warning.
Be careful when deleting a status that still has tickets assigned to it. Move those tickets to a different status before deleting to avoid issues.
Drag-and-Drop
The Kanban board uses @dnd-kit for a responsive drag-and-drop experience. There are two types of drag operations available:
Moving Tickets Between Columns
To change a ticket's status:
- Click and hold the ticket card you want to move.
- Drag it to the destination status column.
- As the card enters the target column, a blue ring and "Drop here" placeholder appear as visual indicators.
- Release the card at the desired position.
The ticket's status updates immediately, and the change is recorded in the ticket's activity history.
Reordering Tickets Within a Column
In addition to moving tickets between columns, you can reorder tickets within the same column:
- Click and hold a ticket card.
- Drag it up or down within the same column.
- Release at the new position.
This is useful for setting visual priority β place the most pressing tickets at the top of a column.
Reordering Columns
Entire status columns can also be rearranged:
- Click and hold the column header.
- Drag the column to its new position (left or right).
- Release at the desired spot.
Column order represents your workflow β arrange from left (new tickets) to right (completed tickets) to create an intuitive flow.
Drag-and-drop is particularly useful during daily ticket reviews. Open the board, identify tickets that have been handled, and drag them to the next status column in seconds.
Managing Multiple Boards
Different teams or workflows often benefit from separate boards. Here's how working with multiple boards looks in practice:
- Switch between boards using the Board Selector dropdown at the top of the Tickets page.
- Each board operates independently β it has its own set of status columns, and you can configure each one differently.
When to Use Multiple Boards
| Scenario | Board Setup |
|---|---|
| Small team, single workflow | One board is sufficient |
| Separate support and sales workflows | One board per department |
| Multiple product lines with different processes | One board per product |
| Regional teams with different SLAs | One board per region |
Keep the number of boards manageable. If you have boards that nobody checks, they're adding noise rather than value.
Archiving Boards
When a board is no longer needed β perhaps the project it was created for has concluded, or you've restructured your teams β you can archive it rather than deleting it.
- Open the board settings.
- Click Archive Board.
- Confirm the action.
Archived boards are removed from the Board Selector but can be restored later if needed. Tickets that were displayed on the board are not affected β they remain in the system.
Archive rather than delete whenever possible. You never know when you might need to reference how a past project or workflow was organized.
Making the Most of the Board View
- Keep your board clean β Archive statuses that are no longer used so the board doesn't fill up with rarely-used columns.
- Limit Work In Progress β Watch how many tickets sit in your "in progress" equivalent. Too many concurrent tickets reduce focus and quality.
- Use consistent colors β Apply the same color conventions across all your boards. For example, green for initial stages, yellow for in-progress, red for urgent or blocked.
- Arrange columns left to right β An intuitive workflow flows from left (new tickets) to right (completed). This makes the board readable at a glance.
- Use the board in team meetings β Walk through each column during standups. "What's new? What's in progress? Anything stuck?" The visual layout makes this conversation natural.
